The Squirrel and The Bear: A Nutty and Polar All-Star Break.

It's another Beautiful Sunday in the Neighborhood! Okay, Enough Mr. Rogers References for Today.

Time for another Rousing edition of "Sunday Reading."

Today we talk about the All-Stars, well only 2 of them in The Squirrel and the Polar Bear (AKA Jeff McNeil and Pete Alonso!

After a ton of waiting and wondering if either of McNeil or Alonso would get into the All-Star game, they finally did and they're finally in! I guess the Bow ties, Blazers and Interviews with The Human Resources Lady Pamn, Pam'd, Pam (Whatever her name was), Brodie Van Wagenen and their Paper they handed into Mickey Callaway saying "Why I should be an All Star" Really worked!

The Commercial was hilarious, The acting was superb and the amount of work that McNeil and Alonso put in every game absolutely, 100% gives them the right to be All-Stars! To see either one of them get snubbed would've been a crime to them, a Crime to the All-Star game and a Crime to Baseball!

Before Alonso was in, The Final 3 Votes for 1st Base were: Josh Bell, Freddie Freeman and Anthony Rizzo. The way the All-Star voting is nowadays is absolutely Laughable and it's all a Popularity Contest which isn't the way to do it!

Finally, It was decided that Alonso would be in over Anthony Rizzo and Rightfully so, seeing as Alonso is having a better year than Rizzo. A snubbing of Alonso wasn't going to go over smoothly with Not only Mets fans, but with Baseball fans in general!

McNeil on the other hand is considered an Outfield Candidate. Despite being an Infielder, McNeil was Primarily been in the Outfield, He is an Outfield candidate. Although he is in as a Reserve (Same as Alonso) it's still worthy to be going to the All-Star game and Being an All Star!

Also worthy of Note, Alonso will indeed participating in the Home run Derby! Although many do tend to disagree with this and it may affect Alonso's swing for the remainder of the season, It's something he wants to do and to win 1 Million Dollars? He has 1 Million Reasons to want to compete in it.

All McNeil does is hit and with his Batting Average sitting nicely at .356 and his OPS at .922, McNeil's bat and his incredible defensive ability has more then given him every reason to be an All-Star!

As for Alonso, Coming into the Season with high Expectations, He has been worth the Price of Admission! Don't get me Wrong, McNeil has been worth the Price of Admission too, I mean come on, McNeil is not only a 2nd Baseman, 3rd Baseman, Left Fielder, Right Fielder, All-Star, Great Batter and Sharp Dresser, He was also a Hot Dog Eating Contest Judge as well! He does Everything!

Back to Alonso, Alonso has been everything and more to what the Mets have wanted out of him! A Great First Baseman and what looks to be the Mets First Baseman of the Future for years to come, An Offensive Threat who shattered Darryl Strawberry's rookie Home Run Record of 26 Home Runs, He also is a Terrific Club house Presence and even though he's only a Rookie, Alonso has shown that he can be a True Leader for the Mets!

In Conclusion, I'm beyond thrilled that Alonso and McNeil are All-Stars! They 100% Deserve to be All-Stars and anyone who disagrees and says they don't, I'd honestly like to know why they don't deserve to be in it and who deserves it more than those 2!

That's it for Today.

Until the Next Article my Friends,

LETS GO METS!!!
