Buy & Large: The Mets are Sellers.

Good Sunday everyone! Time to put the Newspapers down and enjoy another riveting edition of "Sunday Reading."

Now before anyone gets any ideas, step away from any throw-able chairs and/or Remotes.

Friday, It was announced by Brodie Van Wagenen that the Mets are going to be sellers. The interesting thing is, They will only focus on players who have expiring contracts such as Zack Wheeler, Jason Vargas, Juan Lagares, Todd Frazier, Adeiny Hechavarria and Luis Avilan.

Players like Noah Syndergaard, Dominic Smith, Michael Conforto, Jeurys Familia will not be traded. Lots of fans are demanding the team trade Noah, but it isn't that easy.  If the Mets trade Noah, Wheeler and Vargas, who is going to pitch for them? Corey Oswalt, Anthony Kay, Walker Lockett or Seth Lugo who currently has a partially torn UCL and is considered a ticking time bomb?

It's very easy to say "Trade this guy, we'll get a lot for him"

I remember hearing that when Fans wanted Kevin Plawecki traded and when he eventually was to the Cleveland Indians, Fans didn't like the return which was Walker Lockett. Fans were expecting a Francisco Lindor in return for a Backup Catcher. If we're going to live in a World of Fantasy, The Mets would've received Corey Kluber, Mike Clevinger and maybe even Jose Ramirez!

But, we live in the World of Realistically thinking and with the Value that the Rental players have, it won't bring back much of a Return. The most the Mets can get back is a couple of Prospects and not ones who are ready for the Majors anytime soon. The one who would give you that return would be Zack Wheeler. I honestly doubt that Frazier and Vargas along with Lagares will give the Mets a "Haul" of any sort.

But with all of that being said, what needs to be done?

Well, Bullpen has been this teams Krytonite the entire season. Blowing opportunities at each and every turn. The old baseball saying is that "Bullpens are a crap shoot" meaning that no matter how much money you spend on a Bullpen, you can't predict how good they'll be.

Going into this year, The Mets bullpen had looked Fortified with the Additions of Edwin Diaz, Justin Wilson, Re-signing Jeurys Familia, Having Seth Lugo and Robert Gsellman in the Bullpen and signing Luis Avilan to a Minor league deal, the Mets bullpen looked fortified and looked ready to be an upgrade. Unfortunately, the exact opposite happened. Justin Wilson and Luis Avilan suffered injuries and the Mets bullpen imploded from the Core. Each Reliever was struggling and with those struggles spelled the metaphorical death of the Mets season.

An Argument can be made that the defense has been very suspect, especially with some infielders playing the Outfield, but the real issue has been the Mets Bullpen and because of this, Dave Eiland and Chuck Hernandez got the Pink Slip, Phil Regan (The Vulture) is now Interim Pitching Coach, Ricky Bones is back as Bullpen Coach and The Mets are Sellers.

I can't see a lot of moves being made during the Trade Deadline. I can definitely see some moves being made. Trading Zack Wheeler, Todd Frazier and possibly trading Jason Vargas and if the Mets are Lucky, Juan Lagares.

I have no idea how exactly the trade deadline will play out, but I can expect the Mets to do something to help benefit them for next season and beyond. How beyond though, I can't say at all, but it should be interesting to say the least!

That's all for Today!

Until the Next one My Friends,

LETS GO METS!!!
