Mezmorizing Myriad of Mets Miscues

If there's one thing I hate doing, It's Ripping my Favorite Team to Shreds....But, I don't have a Choice in the Matter Despite Last Night's Wilmer Walk-Off Win.

Where Do I Start?

Let me Start off with some Positives:

Starting Pitching:

The Starting Pitching has been a Positive, Jacob deGrom, Zack Wheeler, Steven Matz and Seth Lugo have been a BIG Positive for the Mets. With Syndergaard on the DL with a Sprained Tendon in his Finger, He started his Throwing Program and so far he's Progressing (I believe) and will most likely Need a Rehab Start or Two to get back into Pitching Form. The Mets Starting Pitchers have been a Bright Spot, Going 6 Innings, Not allowing a ton of Runs and holding their own despite allowing a Home Run here and there or allowing a Hit Parade on a Rare Occasion. But with that being Said, The Starting Pitching has been a Positive for the Mets. ONE Pitcher has been somewhat Disastrous....Jason Vargas, A Brilliant signings (I Mean That) to begin with, won 18 Games with Kansas City with a 4.67 ERA last season has a 2-6 Record with a Horrible ERA of 8.60...Although he signed a 2 Year 16 Million Dollar Deal which isn't bad, but he isn't living up to it at all....He's Shown some Promise in some Starts but not much in most of his Starts. But Right now, the Mets can't afford to cut him loose especially with no other Better Pitchers to throw the Rotation, The Mets simply can't cut him loose.

Brandon Nimmo:

Our Mets Broadcasters have Dubbed Nimmo "The Happiest Man in Baseball!" And I don't blame them.
You can't say ANYTHING Negative about this young man! He's got a terrific Smile that is IMPOSSIBLE to Hate.  He Plays Hard, Makes Contact, Performs in the Outfield, Hustles on Every play, Even when he gets Drilled during an At-Bat and Walks. Reminds me of Pete Rose with that kind of Hustle. The Young Man has gotten the Lion's share of Opportunities to play the Outfield Since Yoenis Cespedes went down with a Hip now Quad injury (I'll get to that Later). Nimmo has been a Glimmer of Hope and such a Bright Spot this Season. His Smile goes from Ear to Ear when he gets a Base hit, Makes a Play, and to Top it off, It's Absolutely Amazin' to see his Smile when he hits what I call "A Dinger" (AKA Home Run).  I can Honestly Say, I love this kid and Love watching him Play!

Now it's onto the Negative and things that this Blog was Intended for:

Bullpen:

The Bullpen has gone into a Free Fall, Most of the Relief Pitchers Give up Home Runs to Ruin Good Starts by the Starting Pitching. One Thankful Piece was Hansel Robles being Designated for Assignment and being Picked up the Angels, Where his Pointing to the Sky will have Purpose (He wears #57 with them). AJ Ramos, Who was acquired last season in a Deal with Miami, hasn't looked well and it could Possibly be due to the Shoulder Injury sustained that forced his season to be cut Short. Jerry Blevins is having a Horrible Year, His Curveball is lost and he hasn't been at all like himself from the last 2 seasons. There aren't many gems in the Bullpen, the very few are one Robert Gsellman, Jeurys Familia, Tim Peterson, Chris Beck (To Some Extent)and  Anthony Swarzak who has his good days and his bad days (Bad as of Recently). The Mets Made some moves Recently, They called up Prospect Tyler Bashlor (who had a 2 run Dinger Bashed against him in his Debut) but I'm not gonna kill the Young Gun over one Outing, especially in his Debut. They also called Gerson Bautista back up from AAA and even though he throws heat, his command is off.  Drew Smith has looked good in his Debut but again, I can't Judge based off of One Outing.

Defense:

The Mets Defense has been somewhat of an Improvement, Can't really kill them seeing as Defense isn't as Frustrating as other issues, but Fundamentals are Required for this Team. That's all I'll say to that.

Offense:

Here's something that has Broke my Camel's back and Drained the Water from it's Gigantic Hump. The Offense has Been Asleep, In a Daze, Struggling, Nonexistent, Pulled a Houdini, whatever Reference you want to use. Averaging a .232 Batting Average which is 28th in the LEAGUE and 14th In the NATIONAL LEAGUE. The Players the Mets Acquired in the Free Agent Market Jay Bruce, Todd Frazier and Adrian Gonzalez (Released) have not Produced, ALTHOUGH, they are NOT Known to hit for Average, They are known to hit for Power. Jay Bruce, Who wanted 5 Years 90 Million Dollars The Mets signed for 3 Years 39 Million Dollars which is a Bargain but hasn't lived up to his Contract and I'm sure he knows that and feels it.  Todd Frazier was signed for 2 Years 17 Million Dollars, Not an Expensive Contract at all But he along with Jay Bruce have Struggled at the Plate and even though Jay Bruce is on the Disabled List with a Lower Back Injury (Used A Hockey Term there), He struggled to Produce at the plate when he had a Career year last season. Frazier's Frustration are clearly known at the plate, you know he's trying, He's making contact but isn't getting it all the way and you see him show his frustrations after an At-Bat and/or During it.

Rant Over!

LETS GO METS!!!
