Islanders vs. Canucks 11/28/2017

IT'S GAME DAY EVERYONE!!! TONIGHT'S CONTEST IS AN EAST VS. WEST CONFERENCE MATCH UP BETWEEN THE VANCOUVER CANUCKS AND THE NEW YORK ISLANDERS AT THE BARCLAYS CENTER IN NEW YORK!!!

THE ISLANDERS:

The Islanders are coming off a hard fought game in Ottawa by the score of 2-1.....The Team improved to 14-7-2 and claimed third place as their own for now and have an Opportunity to take 1st place tonight as New Jersey and Columbus lost their prospective games in regulation Last Night! Casey Cizikas Left Saturday's game with a Lower-Body Injury and will miss tonight's contest, So Anthony Beauvillier will be in for him and Quine will most likely Center the 3rd Line! The Injury to Cizikas isn't expected to be a long term injury and he is estimated to maybe miss one game or so. Tonight the Islanders face a Vancouver Team that will be looking for a win tonight!

THE CANUCKS:

The Canucks are coming off a Shootout loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday....Since Travis Green was Hired as Head Coach for the Canucks, they've surprised the league by playing as well as they have....Projected to be less then decent, the Canucks have been playing very good hockey, are 5th in the Pacific Division with an 11-9-4 Record and 26 Points, they are just edged out of the Wild Card by the San Jose Sharks. Vancouver won't be pulling any punches tonight, as they look to rebound from their Shootout loss and get back in the wild card race with a win over the Islanders tonight!

GOALTENDERS:

For The Islanders, Jaroslav Halak is the Confirmed Starter....After having a bad 3 game skid, Jaro had the Night of his life on Saturday when he allowed Just one Goal and had a Sensational Outing that Helped Propel the Islanders to victory over the Senators! Tonight, The Islanders look to Jaro to have another great night against the Canucks!!!

For the Canucks, Anders Nilsson is the Confirmed Starter....Since Signing with Vancouver, Nilsson has been Strong for the team....The Former Islander has put up a 5-1-1 Record for the Canucks! In his Last 5 Games, Nilsson has allowed 10 goals along with a shutout....in 3 of those 5 games, he allowed only 2 goals winning those 3 games! He possesses a 2.25 Goals Against with a .934 Save Percentage....Nilsson hasn't performed well against the Islanders in the Past, Allowing 5 Goals when he played for Buffalo last season, and the Season before Allowing 3 Goals on that Super Bowl Sunday which Later resulted in the 8-1 Blowout Loss while with Edmonton. Nilsson will look to continue his good stride for Vancouver tonight!

OVERALL:

Tonight is a big game for the Islanders, A Win tonight will throw the Islanders in 1st Place of the Division! Something that avoided them all of last year and only saw glimpses of in 2015-16....They Will look to take advantage of Anders Nilsson and the Canucks tonight to get the 2 points and earn the 1st Place Spot in the Always Competitive Metropolitan Division!!! #beLIeve in Our Team!!!
