The What-Could-Be Turnaround for the New York Mets.

Good Sunday everyone!

It's time for another thrilling edition of "Sunday Reading"

Today, we'll discuss the Mets recent success and what it could Possibly lead to.

Since the All-Star Break, the Mets have gone a Whopping 14-6 playing over .600 Baseball. When all looked said, dead, done and lost, the Mets buckled down and got things straightened out.

With the Bullpen being the awful atrocity that it was in the First, it had turned itself around. It went from one of the worst Bullpens to one of the most improved Bullpens. The Solution to fixing it was getting a Left Handed Pitcher back from the Injured List, but in the Mets case, they got two Lefties back from the Injured List in the Form of Luis Avilan and Justin Wilson.

While the Mets still have a fair amount of Problems, they are playing much better Baseball as of late and instead of being dead in the water so to speak, they are 4 games behind for a Wild Card spot!

Their Offense has been an issue as of late. The Mets are able to get runners on Base, but when it comes to bringing runners home, that's where the issue lies in tight Games.

With all the things that Hindered the Mets in the First half, Which was Pitching for the most part and Defense, but mostly pitching in the form of the Mets Bullpen.

Since the Left Handed Pitchers came off the IL, the Mets have had a better shot at winning games. The Bullpen holds leads or if the team is behind, for the most part, they don't allow runs and give the Mets a chance to win the game!

With the recent success of the Mets, everyone thought the Mets would be sellers at the Trade Deadline. The Mets made moves alright, they made one of the most Surprising moves that no one could've predicted!

They traded Anthony Kay (AAA) and Simeon Woods Richardson (A) to the Toronto Blue Jays and acquired Long Island native Marcus Stroman! A Surprise move that shocked all of the Major Leagues, Insiders, Analysts and even Fans. It was going around that Stroman would Possibly head to the Yankees or another team, but that wasn't the Case. The Mets acquired Stroman.

There was one additional move that was made and that was trading Jason Vargas to the Phillies in exchange for a Double A Level catcher. Talks are going around that the Mets acquired this young catcher named Austin Bossart, who apparently went to the same school as Jeff Wilpon's son, Bradley who went to the same school as Austin.

Fans think this move was made because the Wilpons knew of this kid. I highly doubt that was the case. As good as Vargas was for the Mets this season, The Mets weren't going to get a big return at all for Vargas, whose Contract was expiring at the end of this season, but also that the Mets were looking to get rid of Vargas after the Clubhouse Fiasco in Chicago during the Series against the Cubs when a Beat Writer got Manager Mickey Callaway and Jason Vargas upset and Vargas Verbally threatened him.

Since then, Vargas' time was virtually done. In no way does this move for Bossart have the Wilpons name on it because Jeff's son knows him. There was little Value for Vargas and the Mets got whatever they could for him. In other words, they got a bucket of balls for Vargas.

Now, on to the other moves or lack there of.

The moves that fans and expects were expecting were trading Zack Wheeler and Possibly Noah Syndergaard along with Edwin Diaz.

The asking Price for all 3 Pitchers were incredibly High! The Mets were asking for Major League Talent, Major League Ready Talent and Top Prospects. From what was told, the Padres had an offer for Syndergaard that Involved all 3 of what the Mets wanted, but the Mets didn't like the offer and turned the Padres down.

The Mets clearly wanted to keep All 3 Pitchers when the Trade Deadline came around, couple that with their recent string of success. As the Deadline passed and now no more Waiver Deal Deadline on August 31st, where Teams can claim a player off waivers to fulfill a need, The Mets kept their Pitchers! Their Rotation now consists of Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, Zack Wheeler, Steven Matz and Marcus Stroman!

Right when the Deadline passed, Noah Syndergaard posted a "Wolf on Wall Street" Clip on Twitter saying that "He's staying" as a Jab to the Media for thinking that he would be traded.

A Few Days later, Pete Alonso posted a Message on his Twitter with a Message to the Mets fans as Shown below:

This Polar Bear of the Mets loves his team and has proven to be a Great leader for them despite the fact that he's only a Rookie! He loves the Mets, Loves the Fans, Loves the Passion and loves to win!

From what it looks like, the team has bought into Brodie Van Wagenen and Mickey Callaway, despite fans wanting their heads on a Blue and Orange Platter.

Yes, the First hasn't been good by any means, but the Mets 2nd half so far has been really good!

In Conclusion, I'm excited to see what this team can continue to do and I believe the Mets can make this 2nd half even more interesting than it is now!

That's all for Today.

Until the Next Article my Friends,

LETS GO METS!!!
