THE 2018-19 JENNINGS TROPHY WINNER(S): ROBIN LEHNER AND THOMAS GREISS!!!

Robin Lehner, Signed to a 1 year "Show Me" Deal. Coming off a not so good Season(s) with the Buffalo Sabres, while Struggling with Alcohol and Drug addiction, Bi-Polar Disorder and PSTD and ADHD. The Islanders (Lou Lamoriello) took a chance and signed Lehner to a 1 year 1.5 Million Dollar Deal, A Show Me Deal. This Season with the Islanders, Lehner's story was revealed in a Player's Tribune like Article through "The Athletic" depicting his struggles he'd dealt with before coming to the Islanders. This story quickly found it's way around not only the NHL, but possibly the Entire Hockey world and maybe even the entire Sports world! He went on the Ice and had an incredible season! Lehner ended the season with a 2.13 Goals against and a .930 Save Percentage which puts him 3rd in the NHL in Goals Against, 2nd in the NHL in Save Percentage and tied for 4th in the NHL with Tampa Goaltender Andrei Vasilevski with 6 Shutouts! Never would I have expected him to Win the Jennings Trophy, But I'm very proud that he did!

Last season Thomas Greiss had arguably the Worst season of his career for The Islanders. Going into this season, I made a Prediction about Thomas Greiss. This offseason, I said that he would have a Bounce back season, Not all-star caliber, but a Bounce back season with Average Numbers. This season, Thomas Greiss has Exceeded not only My expectations, but has surprised Almost Everyone with his amazing turnaround! Last season, A Lot of fans were yelling at Greiss, Killing him by saying he's a horrible Goaltender, That he's not an NHL Caliber Goaltender and that he should be either Traded, Released or Sent Down to Bridgeport and not come back up again. As a Fan of his, I very proud of him and this incredible turnaround and would've Never Thought he would be a Co-Winner of the Jennings Trophy! He ends this season with an Incredible 2.28 Goals against and a .927 Save Percentage which puts him at 5th in the NHL with his Goals Against, Tied with Jordan Binnington, The Young Rookie Goaltender for St. Louis for 4th in the NHL in Save Percentage and Tied with Arizona Goaltender Darcy Kuemper, St. Louis Rookie Goaltender Jordan Binnington (Again) and Former Isles, Now Boston Goaltender, Jaroslav Halak for 6th Place in Shutouts with 5 of them! Again, I never expected Thomas Greiss to have this sort of turnaround, but it makes me a very proud fan to see him Co-Win (If that's a word) The Jennings Trophy!

This season wasn't Just a Miraculous Turnaround for one Goaltender, But for both of these Goaltenders. No one, and I mean no one not even myself would've predicted this kind of season for both of them. When the Season was about to start or close to starting, Most Experts, Insiders, Writers and had the Islanders pegged as a middle of the Road if not a Bottom dwelling Team that would end up not even a glimmer of hope to be in the Playoffs, but they would be competitive. The Prediction for the Goaltenders at the time, wasn't glowing either. Again, Mostly everyone had this team Not making the Playoffs, no awards or anything of the sort. But this team has proven virtually everyone wrong and again, exceeded everyone's expectations!

The Islanders are now going into the 2018-19 Playoffs with Home Ice Advantage, But that's a story for another time!
