R.I.P Charles Wang.

This isn't going to be a long blog at all.

It is a Somber day for us Islander fans, Islanders Minority Owner Charles Wang has passed away at the age of 74.

Charles Wang purchased the Islanders in 2000 when things were at their absolute worst. Despite the State and the County not helping him out at all and not being able to spend much in order to Keep the Islanders in New York and on Long Island, Charles Wang managed to do so, even if it cost the Islanders and the Fans good seasons.

Despite this, Wang's tactics received a Tremendous amount of backlash from the fans, but overall, He did what he felt was right and kept our Beloved New York Islanders here on Long Island.

When Push came to shove and he wasn't granted Permission to start the Lighthouse Project and was laughed at when he said he would move the team, He did, but managed to keep them in New York.

He then moved the Islanders to the Barclays Center. Despite being a Terrible Place for Hockey, Wang knew that he didn't want to take the Islanders away from Long Island or New York for that matter.

Say what you want about him and his tactics, but in the End, It was all Charles Wang who kept the New York Islanders in New York despite having everything against him.

For that, we are eternally grateful and will forever Thank you!

Rest in Peace Charles Wang.
