Divine Intervention: The Separation of Church & Tebow.

Earlier this week, The Mets released 39 Minor League players from their Organization. Among the Released players was Andrew Church....A 25 year old pitcher from Las Vegas, Nevada. Church was a Starting pitcher for the Syracuse Mets throughout his time in the Minor Leagues, these were his numbers:

AAA: 7.71

AA: 7.11

A+: 4.43

A: 2.22

A-: 5.18

Rk: 5.06

After his release from the organization along with 38 other players, Church
posted a long Rant on his personal Instagram account, ripping the Mets organization
for mishandling him and treating him poorly. In his rant on Social Media, he blames the organization for mishandling him and not letting him go to a Doctor for a torn UCL he claims to have suffered.

Here is Church's Rant on his Instagram (Yes, his username is Papachurch36):

From what it sounds and looks like, His time in Double and Triple A levels were absolutely terrible across the Board and he sounds like he has sour grapes after being released. Among this wicked tirade on Instagram, He blames Tim Tebow for his "Toxic" relationship with the Organization. Although not directly mentioned, There are indications that he's referring to Tebow. Who else is a Celebrity on the Syracuse squad or even when he was on the Binghamton Squad?

Does he really think his argument will hold any water? Tebow may not be the best player on the Syracuse squad, but he was an All-Star in the AA League. It's not much of an achievement, but it's more than what Church was doing. Tell me exactly what Coveted outfield prospect Tim Tebow is blocking and what did Tebow do to Andrew Church in order to form this "Toxic" relationship with the Mets organization? Found disturbing pictures of him on the Internet? Blackmailed him? I'm interested in knowing what a teammate did to make Church act out.

Church, a 25 year old who most likely wasn't going anywhere except from Minor league team to Minor League team....He wasn't on the 40 man roster for the Mets, he wasn't going to play with in the big leagues and was most likely going to be a Career Minor Leaguer. He "Briefly" Retired in 2018 due to a supposedly Torn UCL and then returned in 2019 and he's extraordinarily lucky to have returned and still be in the minors and Continue to stink it up. He was even more lucky not to have been released in the Off-season leading up to the now questionable 2020 season.

We all know Tim Tebow was brought into the Mets organization as a Publicity stunt and nothing is going to change that....It's very Doubtful Tebow gets a call up to the Major League squad. Quick Question, Did Andrew Church and his overall 7.71 ERA in Syracuse really think he'd have a get a shot? By the Way, in his 1 game in Syracuse, He pitched a whopping 13.50 and in the four games in Binghamton, he pitched a 5.57. Also, did I mention that he was a Starting Pitcher?

Before Yesterday, He was Just a name on a Minor League squad....Nothing special at all to spend your money and see. Guys like Andres Gimenez is someone you want to see....Besides him, who else on the AAA Squad worth watching? Tebow is a name that was brought in for Publicity and isn't even hitting close to .200 and yet I have yet to see who he's blocking in Syracuse.

Allow to spread some Truth to Mr. Andrew Church....baseball is a results driven business and even though Tim Tebow isn't performing well on the Syracuse squad, He produced in Binghamton, so well in fact that he got to the Eastern All-Star Game going 1 for 4 as a Designated Hitter during said All-Star game. Where was Andrew Church at the time? Go ahead, I'll wait.

If he really thinks he's wronged and his frustration is justified, There are other Minor League teams out there. In Fact, there are other teams in other leagues such as Independent Leagues like the Long Island Ducks or maybe he could put in a flyer for a Korean league team....The Korean League seem to pick anyone up and They picked up guys who have Major League experience such as two former Mets, Chris Flexen and Drew Gagnon.

For Andrew Church, To say that Tebow was "Making a Mockery" of the team is a virtual Guarantee for you not to get signed by anyone. An Organization can get past being ripped, but when it comes to blaming a Teammate, throwing shade at him and blaming him for your performance or even why you had such a bad relationship, That's something teams and other players on the team will remember. No Team wants to put up with a Player who will bash a teammate behind their back on Social Media.

If Church were smart, He'd get on Social Media again and Apologize to Tim Tebow for ripping him and blaming him for his poor performance. A 7.71 ERA in AAA isn't on your teammates but on your talent yourself. I can't say whether he will not, but if he doesn't, I doubt he'll find another Job with another MLB Organization.

That's all for today my friends.

Until the Next Article,

LETS GO METS!!!
